Scene 2 – The Purchase of the Land in 1665 from Wampatuck , son of Chickatawabut establishes Braintree as independent with the colony.

Strange Interlude 1929 by W. L. Newkirk

October 1, 1929 in Quincy, Massachusetts. The previous night, the controversial, Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Strange Interlude, by Eugene O’Neill, opened at the Quincy Theatre. Quincy’s mayor, Thomas McGrath, a fifty-seven-year-old printer with an eighth-grade education, invited the cast to come to Quincy where they would be allowed one performance of Strange Interlude and then he and a jury of Quincy citizens would decide whether the play could complete the scheduled four-week run.

PBS has scheduled a celebrity roast of John Adams. Abigail Adams is the stage manager. Thomas Jefferson is the host. The setting is the final rehearsal prior to filming. Insults fly

fast and furious. They are sarcastic endearments. For beneath the bluster and bravado these people have great respect and admiration for each other. As of now however, all is unsettled.

Can they resolve their differences before they die?
